For the co-op game community, Payday 2 is one of the best FPS co-op games ever released. With all the mechanics and lore in the game, this game by Overkill Software was a huge success. After previously hinting at a sequel last October 2021. Payday 3 is officially announced!

Announced right on New Year’s Day 2023, the dev released a short trailer for Payday 3. The 25-second trailer features the Brooklyn Bridge complete with New Year’s fireworks. The game is also slated for release sometime in 2023. The game itself will be developed by Starbreeze Studios and Overkill Software while the game will be published by Prime Matter, a German-Austrian media company that funded EURO 50 Million for game development. Payday 3 itself will tell a story after Payday 2 where, “Dallas”, “Chains”, “Wolf”, and “Hoxton” returned to commit bank robberies in New York after previously deciding to split up. Last March 2022, the dev. has also released several concept art for the game where the main characters rob a bank in New York, United States of America.

Talking about Payday, the IP owner of the game Starbreeze Studios almost broke 2019 follows the failed 2018 release of Overkill’s The Walking Dead which left Starbreeze on the brink of bankruptcy forced to sell many of their company’s assets. Hopefully with Payday 3 which is expected to be a success, Starbreeze will be able to produce more quality games.
