Bluesky, Mastodon and more options to replace Twitter
Elon Musk’s decision to create a limit on the amount of content that can be viewed per day caused several users to abandon the social network.
A new Twitter feature update that limits the amount of content that can be viewed on the social network caused many users to receive a message indicating that they had reached the limit of content they could view during the day. The new feature, according to Elon Musk was designed so that “we are all addicted to Twitter and need to get off.”
In a post on his official Twitter account, Musk added that this new feature was doing the world some good and that users who criticized him were reaching their content limit while complaining about this feature. That’s why, again, several of them decided to migrate to other apps. Here are some of the most popular options.
Bluesky social
This new social network, created by Jack Dorsey, one of the co-founders of Twitter, is very similar to the application that is now controlled by Elon Musk: it maintains the functions of responding, liking and sharing a publication, in addition to being able to follow other users, generate text, image and video content, etc.
The main difference between them is that, while Twitter is managed by a company, Bluesky is presented as a decentralized social network, which means that this platform allows users to have greater control over the information they provide and that is produced when using the application.
With the imposition of the limit of content that can be viewed per day on Twitter, Bluesky presented a large increase in users interested in signing up. The increase exceeded the capabilities of the application, so the creation of new users was suspended to solve performance problems on the platform.
Mastodon
Like Bluesky, Mastodon is a micro blogging platform that competes with Twitter as it includes similar features. Its main function, besides being a decentralized social network, is that it allows the creation of communities that can have their own niche within the platform.
On the other hand, since Mastodon allows access to its programming code to anyone, they can create their “small social networks” within the application, so that the community is even more closed.
In the application’s feed, users can have a timeline at the start, with posts from people they follow, a ‘local’ timeline with posts from users in the same location, and a timeline.
With over 50 million users and active since 2005, users can count on this platform to generate posts based on topics that are of interest to them. Instead of grouping each publication based on a hashtag, each user will be able to create or join subreddits, small spaces where each community can create content.

Every time an interaction is generated, content is produced or even a publication is viewed, users earn points within the platform called “karma”, a way to demonstrate the valuable contributions that have been made.
Discord
Unlike the previous ones, Discord does not base its dynamics on being a platform dedicated to the publication of text, photos or video (although it also allows the dissemination of these contents). Its central characteristic is that of being an audio platform where different spaces for dialogue and communities of all kinds can be generated.

Discord
It is because of this function that different content creators on the Internet create their own Discord servers to interact directly with their followers.
