The demo of the new video game from ILCA and Bandai Namco will be released on January 10 and will allow you to transfer the saved data to the final title, which will go on sale three days later.
The publisher Bandai Namco and the development studio ILCA announce that they will release a demo of One Piece Odyssey for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S and computers on January 10, 2023, three days before the launch of the full video game, which can already be reserved through GAME with several bonuses depending on the edition. As both companies have announced, the save data of the demo games can be transferred to the final title when it goes on sale. On the other hand, a new trailer has also been shared that has been dubbed Memories:
“Players will have to explore Memory, a world built from the memories of the Straw Hat crew’s past adventures. In this way they will be able to recover their lost powers. In addition to Alabasta and Water Seven, two new locations are revealed today to explore, Marineford and Dressrosa”, reads the description offered by Bandai Namco. On the other hand, remember that the Dressrosa memory arc will take players to the domain of Doflamingo, a powerful enemy who has put a price on all the heads of the crew members. Regarding the question of whether or not the game will be canon with the original story by Eiichiro Oda, the producer revealed just a few days ago that it is a matter that will be subject to the discretion of the fans.
Everything we know about One Piece Odyssey
“We are not going to deny that this new contact with One Piece Odyssey has left a somewhat bittersweet taste in our mouths. Its combat system has a very good base and with potential that we have not yet seen exploited, and the level design is far from a lot to convince us, making exploration very uninteresting or fun. If it is entertaining us, it is for the simple fact of being a One Piece JRPG, something that is not seen every day and that makes our love for the license us allow you to better digest its defects”, we said in our impressions after testing the title in a development version.
