We have heard rumors that Nintendo is preparing a Switch Pro. Then the rumor dispelled as the Switch OLED was billed as ‘pro verses‘ turned out to be just an ordinary Switch with a better screen. Then came a claim from well-known media stating that Nintendo had planned a Switch Pro but was cancelled.
Sourced to Digital Foundry from their weekly podcast, John Linneman of Eurogamer mentions that there will be a Switch update with ‘fresh hardware‘ that Nintendo was working on but ultimately scrapped. He stated the reason why’Switch with fresh hardware‘ was canceled because it would have the same fate as the Wii U. Most likely the Switch in question is the Pro version that was revealed. John also mentioned that at least the current Nintendo Switch will still be Nintendo’s main focus for 2023.
Plus a few months ago there was custom SoC leaks The claimed NvidiaTegra239 is designed for the new Nintendo Switch. So many people think that Nintendo is preparing their next-gen console. Digital Foundry itself is one of the largest technology media outlets in the world that has high credibility.
As we know, until now Nintendo still wants to keep the Switch. With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom set to release in May 2023, this means that Nintendo still has room until ‘Switch 2‘ officially came. So you don’t have to worry about regretting buying the console.
