Warning for the goats.

Goat Simulator 3 is known for its crazy ideas and ads. This time, however, developer Cofee Stain went a little too far. After the studio used leaked material from GTA 6 for their promotion, they were warned by rights holder Take-Two and had to withdraw the promotional video.

A joke that backfired

The promotional video introduces an NPC named Shaun who tells the audience how he got the role in Goat Simulator 3. “To get this job, I had to be prepared both mentally and physically,” he says.

“I mean, you get thrown around quite a bit and that has to look good, so I spent some time at the most prestigious cleaning school in the world. I learned a lot and I think I’ve turned into a pretty good ragdoll.”

“Besides this job, I have other things in the pipeline, other big game worlds – you can actually see me in some footage that was leaked a few months ago,” says NPC Shaun while showing leaked gameplay from Grand Theft Auto 6 .

Rockstar owner Take-Two wasn’t particularly pleased with this twist on the ad, as the ad was soon removed “in response to a report from the copyright owner.” Not really a big surprise either, right?

The leak has been one of the largest in video game history. Not only was it one of the most anticipated games of the decade, but it also leaked over an hour of material. The 17-year-old, who is said to have hacked Rockstar, is currently still in the middle of the court case.
