Deathverse Service: Let It Die Temporarily Shut Down, Why?

GungHo Online Entertainment and Supertrick Games have announced that Deathverse: Let It Die will temporarily suspend service starting July 18, 2023 as the game will be redeveloped to fix matchmaking and lag issues.

All sales of “Death Metal” (in-game currency) will end on February 7, 2023. All purchased Death Metal can still be used until service is suspended.

Season 2 new content will be released as planned. However, new content for Season 3 will only be partially released.

Deathverse: Let It Die already available on PS5, PS4, and PC (Steam).

Below is the official statement from Supertrick Games:

To all our players,

Thank you very much for your constant support to Deathverse: Let It Die.

We are very grateful to everyone who enjoys and enriches the game and its community.

There’s no doubt that we’ve had some challenges since the launch of our game, especially with regards to matchmaking and in-game lag. We deeply apologize for these issues which may have caused inconvenience to our players.

While we’ve tried various solutions to some degree of success, we haven’t been able to resolve the underlying issue. As a result, the development and operations teams have made the decision to temporarily suspend game services while we redevelop Deathverse: Let It Die.

This is a difficult decision for us to make. However, we believe that re-releasing the game with significant improvements will allow it to be enjoyed by a much wider audience as well as our existing players.

Considering how much time goes into developing games—and that there are a finite number of games a person could possibly make in a lifetime—it’s impossible to say at this stage whether this was the right choice. However, we love this game and are proud to have developed it together as a team. Therefore, we believe that this is the best decision at this time.

We will do our best to prepare for the re-release so that our current community can enjoy the game with more new players in the future.

We really appreciate your understanding and support.
