Irina Shayk, Julia Stegner, Jessica Stam, Caroline Trentini, Liya Kebede… The parade of the most rebellious of Parisian designers, Isabel Marant, ended up becoming today a meeting of ‘top models’ of the 2000s, the last generation that succeeded outside the ‘boom’ of social networks.

The cast also included Natasha Poly, Anna Selezneva or Kasia Strauss, among others, and raised the spectators in applause and cheers -Marant has a powerful base of admirers-.

A gesture that proved that for this designer, attitude and the community created in her more than 30-year career is far more important than trends.

It is always an event when brands turn to successful models from the past, partly because of the curiosity to see them on the catwalk again and, above all, to see how the passing of time has treated them.

Those ‘tops’ did not manage to become the phenomenon that Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington or Carla Bruni had been the previous decade, to name a few, but they were continuous protagonists of covers, brand ambassadors and today continue to gather many fans around them. And, for the most part, it doesn’t seem that time has passed them by.

It also stressed more their presence because this Fashion Week, held in Paris until next Tuesday, is being primarily a show of sobriety, without bringing great proposals or particularly well-known faces among the models.

In this party that is Marant’s fashion show every season, the essential piece of the collection were the “leggings”, which slipped into almost all the outfits, combined with pumps and high heels.

In black, red or lime, the garment promises to return to be worn with maxi jackets, wool sweaters as dresses and also in evening looks.

Otherwise, the Marant silhouette remains in its thirteen, with its bohemian chiffon dresses, floral and ruffled; the masculine leather jackets, very broad in the shoulders and with ‘cocoon’ silhouette, and denim as the ultimate element of aid of any style, day or night.

Marant, who went out to greet the attendees with his artistic director, Kim Bekker, on whom he relies more and more, went further in the trend of low-waisted jeans and proposed them wide, with a kind of double waistband, and colorful.

Knitted dresses in braided wool will be the key piece to spend the winter, according to Marant, who recommends combining them with high boots, musketeer type, but wide, in black or caramel color and, to increase the rebellious touch, with zippers.
