This information is being excitedly discussed by many people, especially for those who have joined the official AetherSX2 Discord server. Based on the information obtained, in recent times Tahlreth has given messages of complaint about the insistence of many people who want this emulator to be present for the iOS platform.

Their insistence made Tahlreth himself turn off the channel to avoid requests from many people. As a result of this much pressure, the AetherSX2 developer stopped developing this PS2 Android emulator. Even on the official website itself it has been announced that the AetherSX2 development team has stopped updating their emulator until an undetermined time.

However, you can still download this emulator in their latest version on the official website and the Google Play Store.

Confirmation from Tahlreth

The AetherSX2 project has been temporarily discontinued.

In a thread on the Reddit forum, Tahlreth confirmed that work on the AetherSX2 emulator was discontinued. He explained that from the start the PS2 emulator project on Android was made just for fun. If he feels that he doesn’t like it anymore, he can just stop it. Apart from that, he doesn’t feel indebted to anyone considering that AetherSX2 can be obtained and used for free.

He feels that lately many people do not appreciate what he is doing, especially those who are pressing to make a PS2 emulator on the iOS platform. Every day he gets more than 15 email messages containing complaints from consumers, such as the emulator being heavy for devices with low specs, asking for an emulator that supports 32-bit, or people asking to make a PS3 emulator on Android. He has received more than 6000 emails throughout 2022.

AetherSX2 Emulator Update Temporarily Stopped Due to Lots of Pressure

Tahlreth began to feel that the project he was working on now could no longer be considered a fun hobby. And recently he also found a social media account on behalf of himself and the developer team. Tahlreth said there were already many parties claiming on behalf of the AetherSX2 development team. So he advises AetherSX2 users to always be careful with fake accounts which he regarded as scam.

That’s information regarding the AetherSX2 emulator update which had to be temporarily stopped due to a lot of pressure. Hopefully this PS2 Android emulator project can continue again and the development team will remain enthusiastic.
